Clean Water for All: Joseph Waswa Foundation Establishes Springs Across Webuye West

Access to clean and safe water is one of the most pressing challenges facing many rural communities in Kenya. In response, the Joseph Waswa Foundation has taken bold and practical steps to ensure that residents of Webuye West no longer have to walk long distances or rely on unsafe water sources.

Through the Foundation’s Water and Health Initiative, numerous community springs have been constructed and protected in key areas across the constituency. These springs now serve as reliable water sources for hundreds of families, enhancing not just access to water but also the overall health and dignity of the community.

“Clean water is not a privilege – it’s a basic human right. Our people deserve safe drinking water without the risk of waterborne diseases or hours of walking,” said Joseph Waswa, founder of the Foundation.

These spring projects are strategically located to serve the most underserved areas, and each site is designed with protective structures to prevent contamination. Additionally, the Foundation works closely with local leaders and health educators to promote hygiene practices and ensure the long-term sustainability of the springs.

This clean water initiative reflects Mr. Waswa’s commitment to equity, wellness, and community empowerment—core pillars that guide all initiatives by the Foundation. Looking ahead, the Joseph Waswa Foundation remains dedicated to uplifting lives, one village at a time, with clean water as a powerful starting point.
