Clean Water Access
Many households in Matulo, Misikhu, Bokoli, and Sitikho wards rely on distant or contaminated water sources. The Foundation addresses this by developing water infrastructure in community-driven ways. Our projects include drilling of wells and boreholes as well as supply through water bowsers.
Another focus is rainwater harvesting. In areas without groundwater, the Foundation plans to start start helping households and institutions (schools, clinics) install gutters and storage tanks. This will involve working directly with families and schools to set up these systems, using donated tanks or plastic liners.
Throughout, the approach is community-centered: this mirrors successful models in Kenya where technical staff collaborate with local committees. Regular training is given on maintenance and water safety. The result is increased access to clean water for families, schools, and clinics. With reliable water nearby, children spend less time fetching water and illness rates (such as diarrhea) decline, improving overall quality of life.
