JW Foundation Launch Water Spring in Sitikho Ward, Mbakara Village

Residents of Mbakara village in Sitikho Ward have a reason to celebrate after the Joseph Waswa Foundation officially launched a community water spring project aimed at easing access to clean and safe water.
The launch, graced by the Foundation’s Director, Mr. Joseph Waswa, attracted hundreds of villagers who expressed their gratitude, citing years of struggle and long distances in search of clean water.
“This project is a huge relief to us. For a long time, we have suffered walking for kilometers to fetch water. Today marks the end of that hardship,” said one of the villagers during the event.
The Foundation’s Director of Programmes, Mr. Isaac Wanjekeche, assured the community of the Foundation’s continued commitment to improving livelihoods across the county. “This is part of our broader mission to support communities with essential services. We believe access to clean water is a basic right that unlocks better health and dignity,” he said.
Also present was Matulo MCA, Hon. Steve Kaiser, who lauded the Foundation for partnering with the community to drive development at the grassroots.
The Joseph Waswa Foundation has over the years rolled out various community-focused projects including education bursaries, health support initiatives, and agricultural empowerment programs. The new water spring project is expected to benefit hundreds of households in Mbakara and the surrounding villages.
